Maintenance is keeping the site healthy — updates, backups, monitoring, security. Change work is altering what the site does or says: new pages, content edits, design tweaks, a new form. Plans above Care include a monthly allowance of that, and anything beyond it is quoted before we start.

A backup is taken immediately beforehand, and on the higher plans updates are tested on a staging copy before touching the live site. If something breaks anyway we roll back and tell you which component caused it. You do not pay extra for us to fix a problem our own update caused.
