Claim the name before somebody else does

For most extensions the registry publishes some registrant data in WHOIS, and how much varies by extension and by your location. We do not currently bundle a privacy service, so if that matters for a particular name, ask us before you register and we will tell you exactly what that registry exposes.

Yes. Point the domain at any nameservers you like from the client area, and if you are reselling hosting you can register private nameservers on your own domain — ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com — from the same panel.

Yes. A domain-only registration is perfectly normal, and plenty of people park a name for a year or two before building anything. You still get full DNS control, so you can point it at any host you like, including one that is not us.

We send reminders well ahead of the date, and again after. Most extensions then enter a redemption period during which recovery is possible but carries a registry fee. Auto-renew is on by default precisely so this does not happen quietly.

On some extensions registries discount the first registration and charge a standard rate afterwards. Rather than hide that, we print both figures in the pricing table so the second year is never a surprise.

Yes, and there is a dedicated transfer flow for it. A transfer adds a year to whatever time is already left on the domain, so nothing is lost by moving mid-term.
