Why every reseller plan now has an account limit

Until 2019 a cPanel licence cost the same however many sites a server held. Now cPanel bills hosts by account count, and the price rises almost every year. That cost lands somewhere — usually as a cap on your plan, sometimes as a fee nobody mentioned. Here the limit is printed on every plan, and the licence is already inside the price.

Before you start reselling

What people ask before putting their own name on someone else's infrastructure.

Not unless you tell them. Nameservers are on your domain, cPanel carries your branding, support comes from your address and invoices are yours. There is no footer credit, no branded login screen and no reply-to address of ours anywhere in the chain.
Entirely your decision. We do not set retail prices, take a percentage, or publish a recommended figure. Most resellers price per site or per plan and comfortably cover the plan fee within the first handful of accounts.
No. WHM handles account creation, limits, suspensions and backups through a web interface, and everything below that is ours. What you do need is the willingness to be the first point of contact for your clients.
You escalate it to us. We answer in plain language you can pass on in your own words, and we never contact your client directly. As far as they are concerned, you solved it.
Yes, free of charge and however many there are. Account-to-account transfers between cPanel servers are well supported, so files, databases, email and DNS zones move intact. We stage and test before any DNS changes.
Within reason, and it is how most reseller businesses work. Selling ten accounts of 10 GB on a 75 GB plan is normal, because almost nobody uses their full allocation. We will tell you if your actual usage is approaching the plan limit rather than suspending anything without warning.
Not to start. WHM lets you create accounts by hand, which is fine for the first several clients. WHMCS becomes worth its licence fee once you are handling recurring invoices for more accounts than you want to track manually, and our provisioning works with it out of the box.
You move to a cPanel VPS or a dedicated server, and we migrate the accounts for you. Nothing about your setup has to be rebuilt, and your clients notice nothing.
Whatever is printed on the plan. Annual terms show the term rate and the renewal rate together, and monthly terms carry no introductory discount. That matters more for resellers than anyone, since a surprise cost increase has to be passed to your own clients.

Sizing a server is easier with someone who has done it before. Tell us what you are running and we will suggest a size — including a smaller one, if that is the honest answer.
